The mosquito in amber lamp

A warm glow. A questionable business plan.

Sleeper Score

A specimen-like amber light can sit among ordinary books and ceramics. The suspended mosquito is the knowing detail.

The mosquito preserved in amber is a small object with very large consequences in Jurassic Park. Grupo Erik reinterprets it as a warm decorative light: orange resin on a rocky-looking base, somewhere between a natural-history curiosity and a shelf lamp. It is officially licensed merchandise inspired by the film object, rather than a screen-used specimen or an exact prop replica.

Before you buy

Grupo Erik LAMP010, approximately 11 × 13 × 17 cm. Resin, not genuine amber or a real fossil. The maker specifies one warm light mode, USB-C power with a supplied cable, or three AAA batteries (not included). It is ambient decoration rather than a reading lamp. Look for Grupo Erik LAMP010: similar unbranded amber ornaments and other lamp editions can have different dimensions and power requirements.
